General Contest Rules

  1. I won't give a set maximum number of dolls per entry, but keep it reasonable. Two is fine. Three is fine. Twenty is not.

  2. The maximum number of entries per person is the total number of entries in the contest not including yours divided by two. If a particular contest is really popular, I might limit it more.

  3. NO JPEGS!!! I prefer .gif and .png, but I'll also except .bmp if I have to (I'll convert it to .png for you).

  4. Animation is just fine, but let's not have one thousand frames or anything, ok?

  5. No frankendolling (taking pieces from other dolls and putting them together, like when Dr. Frankenstein made his monster). Make it yourself. (Really, I think this should be obvious.)

  6. No drag 'n drops or dollmakers. (This should be pretty much common sense, too.)

  7. There is no 'size limit', but keep it reasonable. Big dolls upset my tables.

  8. When it comes to blood and other fun things, aim for around PG13.

  9. Artistic nudity is just fine. Hardcore porn is not.

  10. I reserve the right to refuse any doll submitted. (I will try to explain why, so you could resubmit if you just have to change a thing or two!)

  11. I will happilly reserve you a spot, but I need the doll by the day before the contest. I'll try to email you and remind you a bit before that, but I really do need the doll in by then.

  12. Have fun! (Yes, that is a rule!)

Now for judging! Here are the awards.

Awards will vary. If I have 20 entries, I can't gaurantee everyone will get something, but I try! Even if I'm giving out 'Most Interesting Shading' awards! There will be a First, Second, and Third Place, as well as an Edonil's Choice, unless, of course, there are only three entries, in which case there will just be First Place and two other awards.

First, Second, and Third are figured out by adding a bunch of numbers together (everything is rated from one to whatever, and the four numbers are based on how good the doll is, its suitability/how well it relates to the theme, People's Choice, and Other Person's choice) (I may change these results slightly if I don't like them). For each doll, 50% of the voting comes from me, 25% comes from somebody else (often someone in my family who knows nothing about dolling), and 25% is from the People's Choice poll.

* As of now, the winners of First Place and Edonil's Choice may request a doll. I'll probably send you an email reminding you if you win first place.

** The winner of First Place gets their link added to my links page, too. How cool is that?

Now for entries. Send them to webmistress[at]edonil.com with your name, your url (if you don't have one, say if you want a link to your email; I could also link to a member page on a forum or something if you want), the base credit, and, of course, your doll. The title of the email should be the contest title.
