My Old Dolls

These are some of my older dolls (more will be added once I've added more to my other pages). The comments are the original comments from when they were on other pages, so I can't say that I agree with said comments.

Bases by Xandorra

Xiala Abeida, Mage of Fire - My very first doll made completely by me (except the base). I still love her! She is one of my favourite dolls! And she inspired the Element Chronicles... Wow, this is one inspiring doll! (Note: Most of the other Elem. dolls stole and recoloured Xi's hair.)

This is actually my second water mage. She's the same as the first one, except that the water is a thousand times better. The first water was really bad. And her hair is stolen from Xi and recoloured. :)

Hestora Vra, Mage of Air - This was originally going to be my water mage, but I thought she looked more... aerial. And her dress is supposed to be a gradient... I did the dress separately, as three colours, and saved the dress as a JPEG, so it smudged. Then I copied it on to her. Not bad, all things considered.

Linia Himes, Mage of Earth - I'd just done Tora, and wanted to try another 'gradient'. The technique I used on Tora just wouldn't work on Lin, though. So I used the MS Paint airbrush. It worked... sorta. :P

Sirenia Lin, Mage of Light - The original one is on a black background, and has an airbrush glow that I did in Painter Classic. But I made her transparent to put up on this site (because the glow looked horible!). I may give her a glow using Adobe, so she stays transparent...

Rilan Hetch, Mage of Darkness - Anyone who has read Mage of Darkness should recognize this gal! Yes, this is my original picture of Rilan. And this is still what Rilan looks like! My friend thinks the white skin looks bad, but I like it. What about you?

Aveniale Sucratchi, Mage of Life - Again I have stolen Xi's hair. I didn't even bother to lengthen it this time! I like the pool of... whatever it is at her feet. But it's been taken away from her in the stories and given to Sirenia (remember when Rilan mentions that Sirenia can cast 'liquid light'?).

Wicastera Amon, Mage of Death - And friend was over, and we were bored. So we made Wiccy. Because she's so cool, we made her a death mage. I like her! Her hair is so... different from the other mages. :) Maybe I should do dolls with hair like Wiccy's more often...

Runya the Gypsy - I was a gypsy for halloween; my costume was based on a character from DotF. So I figured I'd do a doll of her. And no, my costume wasn't this cool. It was much more boring.

Jelena Ana Vancura - Hmm... I dunno, she's alright. I gave up on her, but figured I needed my Internet Namesake up here somewhere. I'll probably do another of her. Her tunic is kinda screwed up, and her hair is... odd, but her sword isn't too bad. I like her boots!

Jelena Ana Vancura - This is Jelena when she's spending time in the Cividinan Court. Yes, she's wearing a dress. And yes, she's annoyed. (Adrijana ordered her to!) I think her hair turned out much better this time. I even tried to do a scar. See that blur, on the (your) left side of her face? Unfortunately, I realized that the scar is supposed to be on her left... Oh well, it doesn't look good anyway. (PS The bottom of her dress (the skirt) is Ari's. I love Ari's dress!)

Cristoya - This doll took me forever- MS Paint and pixel shading will be the death of me! But I really like her hair! I doubt I could do it in Adobe!

Cristoya - I finally redid her! What do you think? I think I love her dress folds! It took so long. And her hair is awesome! Definately one of my favourite dolls. The glow is coming from the moon, by the way. Her element is Air, so the moon seemed fitting.

Aranya - I'd done my other Dream Journal dolls, and knew I was getting Adobe for Christmas (in less than a week), so I figured I'd do Arayna in MS Paint, so I could have something to compare to my Adobe doll! And, while doing her dress, I learned something: SEVEN LAYERS OF PIXEL SHADING IS EVIL!!!

Aranya - I took a while to redo her... Anywho, I like her. The puddle beneath her (yes, that's water) didn't work to well... I may have to add more slides later. I like her dress. And the sleeves. They're wonderful. Her hair is kinda funky, too. Click on her to see her without the animation.

Kistaf - I like this doll! Her hair didn't turn out like I expected, but I like it this way. Her tunic bottom is too square, though.

Kistaf - I think I like her. She's certainly better than the original. Her hair is the right colour: dirt brown. I couldn't think of anything more original than a blinking doll, so she just meditates, opens her eyes to glare at you, then closes 'em. She takes her time, too. Bentalche - I confess; I didn't do the semi-transparent clothing in MS Paint. I didn't do it in Adobe, either. I used something called Painter Classic- no layers! I selected airbrush, and brought the size down to one pixel. And did the skirt and shirt. The shirt is one layer thick (except where you can see the other side of the shirt), and the skirt is three pixels thick (except for the parts not covering her body- that's six pixels!). And I did it all by hand... Never again! And the skirt looks much better on a white background... I like her hair! Wish my hair was like that!

Bentalche - I love her hair! It looks awesome without the purple. I'll have to use it on another doll... And her skirt (when it's not transparent) looks sort of tye-dyed. I'll also have to use it. She's so cool... I love the animation! It was supposed to be an orb of fire, but... Looks sorta like lightning. I like it much better than my other sad attempts at animations. I think this is my best one. Click on her to see her without the animation.

- I don't particuarily like the colour, but I also don't like any pink. But it looks good on her. Her eyebrows and eyelashes are too dark, and her tunic is too tight. I don't really like her...

- I love the animation. Admit it; it's cool. I also like her corset-thingy. Her tunic, I'm not crazy about. Her hair is ok. But her animation and her corset are awesome! Click to see without the animation.

Le'alra N'akinoid - Le'alra turned out better than expected, although she looks too... sad. I imagine her with no expression at all. But I like her tunic and her hair! Her boots need lightening, though, and I think I should have given her a sword...

Aritina D'lalshine - I love her! Her hair and eyes look really good! And I love her makeup. And I did it without anything to look at but my imagination... Her dress also looks awesome!

Rinalmironca T'lalniaknialni - Ooh! I love her... I have to say, working with grey was rather... boring, but I guess it suits her character. And I didn't do too bad, all things considered. I don't really like the kerchief, but I didn't have any tutorials to work from, and I couldn't find any dolls on other sites with kerchiefs. I guess Ronca is unique!

Nri'aka W'cari - This has to be my quickest doll ever. Fourty minutes! I'm not sure that's a good thing... Anywho, I like her. Her hair looks good. I was trying out several new things on her; shiney clothes, a corsette, and good-looking blonde hair. Not bad, although I could go back and work on her more... Then again, maybe not.

Niola P'ranjelloca - Yes, I finally did her! Her hair isn't as realistic as I'd like, but oh well. Maybe I'll fix it. Maybe I'll steal Althea's hair (see Other Dolls). Then again, maybe not. :) Anywho, I like her clothes, as they turned out as I imagined them. And I love the base and the face! It was so perfect for her! I'll have to write a scene in her story where she looks exactly like this (except, of course, for the hair)!

Jelena Vancura and Arav Vemulakonda - It's Jelena and her husband, Arav! What do you think? My first guy! I think they make a very cute couple... But the shading is horrible. Stupid computer. Photoshop wasn't cooperating, so I did minimal shading. I like their hair!

Marneen - In the 1000 slide slideshow (see Maree's description), I needed this character. So I made Marneen. I only had about an hour and a half to do her, so I borrowed Ronca's skirt, and covered it with a gradient. Much better than my first gradient doll, Devika (although that may just be because Devika's shading is lousy). I love Marneen hair! It's so pretty! I want hair like that! :)

Maree - In my Information Technology class, we have to make a 1000 slide slideshow. So I chose to do one of my stories that I haven't done too much on. Maree's dress is actually Ronca's skirt and Marneen's shirt in a new colour; I didn't have much time. I like her hair; it looks good, considering I did the entire doll in less than half an hour.

Maree - In the slideshow mentioned in the description of the doll to the left, I needed a picture of Maree as a child. I chose to stick it on the same line because it's the same character. If I ever redo my dolls, that's probably what I'll do. I love Little Maree's hair! I used the same technique I used with Undine, only this time it worked! :)

Cardea - I don't know, she's just weird. She's supposed to be half medieval, half modern. Kinda interesting. She inspired a story! Cardea was the Roman goddess of threshholds, door pivots, and change.

Undine - My first mermaid! All things considered, she didn't turn out half bad. I love her tail!!! And her shirt went well, too. Her hair is ok. When I started her, I planned on putting speckles on her skin, but I forgot (I did the tail first), and when it was done, I decided that I really didn't want to. I finally got around to giving her jewellery and a trident. You should see my first attempt at a trident; I had to redo it. It was horrible. :) And as for the name, why Undine? I think it's perfect. It suits her so well! And an undine is a medieval female water spirit. :)

Saffron - My first animated doll. I have decided: image ready is EVIL!!! It kept cropping the glow! :( Eventually, I lost it, and got rid of the darn glow. *mutters about stupid, expensive art programs* Anywho, this is Saffron. She's kinda got a... gold theme.

Arianne - I was bored, and my computer died. We lost everything. She technically isn't a story doll, so she'll go here for now. She's supposed to be from a country on Thrae (DotF), which was based on Revolutionary France. Her name means Silver, and this is the French spelling. In case you're wondering, one side of her hair is wavy, and the other side is in ringlettes.

Aya - My first dolls using Adobe. She turned out much better than I expected! Her name, Aya, means silk!

Devika - My second dolls. I was bored, and wanted to try my hand at gradients. So I came up with Devika! I just love her name! But there's something about her shading I don't quite like...

Midori - Doll number three in Adobe. I wanted to make a character doll with a velvet dress, but I figured I'd test it on a different doll instead. My friend gave me the idea for the style of the dress. After the dress was done, I just had to try doing a braid- it was the perfect hair style. I think she's pretty good. The dress turned out better than expected.

Althea - Doll number 10! Maybe I should stop doing My Stories dolls. :) Anyways, I have lots of redheads in my stories, and I also wanted to try a shiny dress... It's not very shiny, but it looks cool! I wish I'd known how to do this when I did Le'alra! And her hair isn't half bad. Definately one of my better dolls.

Jasmyn - I was looking at some of my sister's dolls, and they were so horrible, that I said I'd show her how to draw a proper skirt. So I started Jasmyn. The skirt tutorial got a little out of hand... And as for her name, her shoes (which you can't see) look like Jasmine's from Disney's Alladin.

Lavender - I was reading the updates on Xandorra's Place (that's where I get my bases), and came across a contest (Lace, Ribbons, and Velvet). So I decided to enter. This was the result. I kinda like her... I admit that she's not original. Her skirt is Ronca's (also used on Maree and Marneen), and her hair is Saffron's (see above). Oh well, I can steal from myself. :P

Sequoia - Made for my Velvet Tutorial. Her name is a kind of tree. Fitting, as her dress is green.

Ketalissa, First Master of the Gaisho Te from Seond - I finally did a Seondian doll! What do you think? That's the clothes of a Gai’sho Té, though not as I imagined (or drew). I've got a better hand drawing somewhere... Anyways, this is the First Master of the Gai’sho Té. All the black stuff is leather, and that grey stuff on her body is metal plates, which act as armor. Weird clothes, I know, but interesting. Her hair is the new Bentalche's without the purple. I think she's in some sort of meditative state. Probably reaching the 'Calm'. By the way, I know her sword looks bad. I'm just too lazy to fix it. I suppose I could make it smaller...

Enyo - Pixel shading! Aaaaarg! But I like her. Especially the bottom of her skirt. And her hair. Gotta love the curls. Her hat's kinda funky, too. Made as an example for my Hat Contest

- This is the Earth Oracle. I kinda like her. She's anything but a typical rp character. In fact, I created her for the sole purpose of being different. She's supposed to be 28, a widow, and searching for her long-lost daughter, who eloped. Her dress is kinda nice... Same pattern as Arianne from Other Dolls.

Bases by Doll on the Hill Factory

Meallan - Made as an example for my Elemental Spirit Contest. She was supposed to be lightning... Yeah, um... Didn't quite work out like expected, but she's kinda cool... Her name is Irish. It means lightning. As usual, click on her to see her without the animation.

Phoenix - She's the example for the Elemental Spirit Contest. I used the airbrush a lot for her. I kinda like her... She looks better as a png. Then the edges of the fire are fuzzy. Click to see a good version of her.

Midori Remake - I redid her! I really like her. Her dress looks like it's supposed to. Go to my tutorials section to find out how to do her hair!

Yin and Yang (aka Gemini) - Two characters that I love dearly, and just had to doll. The woman is Yin, who is Good, but only has the power to do Evil. The man, Yang, is Evil, with only the power to do Good. They hate each other, but can not achieve anything without each other. When they get together, they can merge into one being, called Gemini. If Yin is stronger when they merge, Gemini is Good, and if Yang is stronger, Gemini is Evil. Don't you just love 'em?

Pamela - It's me in my Halloween costume, 2004! I'm a princess! Ain't I purdy? I sound so childish... Also found on my Challenge Dolls Page.

KYERA ARENEYO - Ain't she purdy-lookin'? My character Ky. I played her once in a LARP (Live Action Role Play). Of course, in the LARP she was no longer a guard, she was Ky, Con Artist Extraordinaire (had to look up the spelling of that). Made for a Royal Guard Contest at geocities.com/iceshadowdolls

CRISTOYA - I love her hair. And her dress is growing on me. The colour is awesome.

ARANYA - I love the costume design! The folds on the top of her dress are awesome, but I'm not so happy with the bottom ones. *shrugs* Ah, well, she's still awesome.

KISTAF - I'm not too sure what to think. I got the colours right, and her tunic and boots aren't half bad, but her hair... The colour is fine, but the style looks a bit off.

ANARA - The healer chick. Her hair wouldn't actually be that messy, but it looks better this way. I like her corset.

CAL HANLEY - I had so much trouble with the skirt. It was big and fwooshy and totally didn't match the shirt in terms of shading, so I tried to cover it with an apron, but that didn't work, so I thought about it for a few weeks, then redid it completely. Much better now. Her hair = heart. And her shirt is pretty nifty, too. It's Cal as an indentured servant.

JELENA ANA VANCURA - I wanted to keep track of what scars Jelena has. This appeared to be the best way.

Jelena on her wedding day. She... doesn't like dresses. Thus the scandalized expression.

JELENA VANCURA and ARAV VEMULAKONDA - It's Jelena and Arav, at the masquerade ball before one of Adrijana's weddings. They're dressed as snakes. :) Jelena had a hissy-fit when she saw how tight her dress was.

JELENA VANCURA and ARAV VEMULAKONDA - I outlined it... then left it for a month. But it's done now. Jelena's boots are awesome!

KIANA KAIKA MELIKA AROHA KEANU - Made for a Fantasy Character contest at Ice Shadow Dolls. The one of the left is Kiana as an elven Maiden. I love her expression, and her folds, and her make-up... *dreamy sigh* The one in the middle is Kiana as a house-wife, or whatever it is she does after the stories ends. I love her! So pretty... The one on the right is when she's insane. All grey and purdy, with the teary eyes... So loverly, wouldn't you say?

Ixchel - She was made for a base edit contest entry. I like her. The hair got a little out of hand... She's on a background because otherwise she looks weird.

This is Avylonn's mom. I made her a long time ago, but never got around to putting her up... I like her hair. And the base is awesome.
