We set off from Ancentialle. First was Maisen Higgs. Following were Marneen Corenof, Leno Hames, and that strange Hets person. Then came us mages. First was Xiala Abeida. Then came Morette Liaki and Hestora Vra. Next were Wicastera Amon and Linia Himes. Then came I, Sirenia Lin. Then came Rilan Hetch, talking to her twin, coman. Then came Mage Salia Linaide and Hanomen Tieni. Bringing up the rear was Haynen Haninof.
We left in the third hour of the mroning. First we went to Aveniae. Aveniae was a beautiful city. I was made of quartz, and was right on the ocean. We spent several days there. I enjoyed exploring the tidepools. Although it would have been more fun if I had gone with Morette. She went with Tora. Morette, being a Water Mage, was able to Summon some dolphins, and the two of them got to walk right up to them. But when Morette saw Avi and me coming, she Sent the dolphins away, and she and Tora left.
Next, we went to Menenialle. It was very similar to Aveniae. We stayed for a few days, then left the country of Lientanae for Northland.
First we went to Sideview. The climate was slightly different- we were no longer in the forest that covered the eastern side of the continent. But it wasn't too different.
It was a week from Menenialle to Sideview. On our way, I learnt a bit about my Journey-Partners.
Leno Hames, our Sergent-Guardian. He had heavily tanned skin, and short-cropped black hair streaked with grey. His eyse were hazel, and his nose was slightly crooked. He was bron in Henavrae, in the twon of Riverside. When he was twenty, he joined the Army of Elements, and became a commander by the age of thirty-five. he had been startioned in Allview, the capital of the Watchlands. He was in his mid-fourties. He, being in the army, was forbidden to marry, but he had a girlfriend.
Mage Salia Linaide was a Death Mage, so she rarely talked. Only Death Mages talked to other Death Mages. All I knwe was that she was on the Mage Council, and that she was a powerful Death Mage. Avi told me that Morette had said that Mage Salia Linaide could Magic Death, or Magically cause Death. But I don't trust rumours- they tend to be exageratted.
Marneen Corenof, our Guiding-Guardian, was an interesting fellow. He had the pale hair, eyes, and complexion of a Northlander. he was born in Saltspray, a small twon of the northern coast. He was a nervous man. When you talked to him, he never looked at you; his pale blue eyes were constantly dartin gabout. he never stayed still, either. He was perpetually shifting from foot to foot, and biting his nails. His voice was unnaturally high, and was decidedly squeaky. Overall, he was a rather annoying fellow.
And then there was Hets.
I didn't know what to make of him. Mainly because I had no idea what he was saying. He pronounced half his constanants, and none of his vowels. The only two who could enderstand him were Rilan and Coman Hetch. Hets had grown up in what he called, "th' s'm's". Rilan then explained that he had grown up in the slums of Ancentialle. I was surprised such a place existed, and decided that once I was a full Mage, I would see to it that the area was exterminated.
Hanomen Tieni was a friendly man. he was rather plain, but he knew many jokes, and kept us entertained well into the night.
